Lynx Pass rises above the Stagecoach area south of Steamboat Springs and was once
hunting territory for the mysterious lynx. It's a great area to car camp, backpack, mountain
bike and harvest wood for cold winters. Lynx were reintroduced into areas of Colorado in
1997. If they have re-established themselves in this area, we aren't telling but we'll keep
looking. When we released Lynx Pass tents, we had weekend backpackers, cash-strapped
college kids and camping families in mind. We wanted a tent line that could march off
to Philmont, get used and abused on the weekends or offer refuge on a solo getaway.
